Sun Creek, Fort Klamath, Oregon July 4th 2019

My favorite place to “hide” for the Independence Day weekend is alongside the banks of Sun Creek, east of Fort Klamath, and just south of the Crater Lake National Park boundary. While I did intend to go it alone as usually preferred, this weekend came alive with lots of riding partners and even a couple of overnight campers.
This being a rather remote, off the books kind of place, I was astonished to see a huge diesel pusher with its accompanying tag-a-long mini SUV parked in my camping spot! As it turned out, this was a really nice young family, military (thanks for your service!), who live in Tampa, Florida and are a 2 month adventure to see the country! They spent the day I arrived at Crater Lake Park, and were gone by 9:00 the next morning. They were so friendly, and the kids were so much fun, I was sorry to see them go.
The pictures below include Danny and Debbie Price of Sprague River, Oregon, Dayna and Carl Barbee, Les Hathorn and Kris Oyler of Klamath Falls, and Debbie and Steve Hilbert of Chiloquin. They aren’t in any particular order, unfortunately, and were taken all weekend.
